Design of sewer network rehabilitation of choice parts of urbanized areas
Horák, Ondřej ; Malaník, Stanislav (referee) ; Raclavský, Jaroslav (advisor)
The thesis approaches the problem of design of sewer network rehabilitation of urbanized area named Kamenná čtvrť. The thesis is divided into several parts. In the first part of the thesis there is the accompaying report, which describs characteristics of the area as a whole. The second part of the thesis is about describing each part of the network, clasification of defects according to the ČSN EN 13508 -2 and fothcoming TNV 75 6905 and photographs from network camera survey. In the third part of this thesis there is a chart with all defects located on the network. Also there is an evaluation of each part of network according to prepared TNV 75 6905. The fourth part of the thesis talks about evaluation of each part of the network as a whole. In the fifth part of the thesis we design possible choises of reahabilitation on the network. The sixth part of the thesis contains the economic aspects of possible alternatives and their comparsion. Last part of the thesis contains a hydrotechnical calculation, which means calculation of the current situation and the possible alternatives. There is an individual evaluation of the calculation and if its necessary optimizations of the network.
Vývoj materiálů uplatňovaných v nábytkářském průmyslu
Vlachopulos, Christos
The bachelor thesis is devoted to materials commonly used in the furniture industry. It deals with their development, especially with regard to their properties. The mapped materials describe their properties and usages that are applied in the furniture industry. The theoretical part results in an overview of the selected materials. The practical part deals with the identification and comparison of the selected mechanical and physical properties of the different materials, which are discussed. The thesis can serve as a practical usable overview of materials applied in the furniture industry, which includes their properties and practical applications.
Dysmenorrhea and conservative approach to affect painful menstruation - questionnaire survey
Tipplová, Eliška ; Křivánková, Markéta (advisor) ; Hošková, Blanka (referee)
Title: Dysmenorrhea and conservative approach to affect painful menstruation - questionnaire survey Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to use a questionnaire survey to obtain information on how often painful menstruation (dysmenorrhea) occurs in women. Following this, an analysis of this data will be carried out in order to assess the possibilities of influencing and preventing painful menstruation using conservative methods, especially exercise. Methods: For the theoretical part of the thesis, a literature review was carried out. research from various sources, including the libraries of the Faculty of Physical of Charles University and the 3rd Faculty of Medicine Charles University, English-language articles, studies and university theses from databases Web of Science, Pubmed, and Theses.cz. The practical part consists of questionnaires survey and subsequent data analysis together with the results. Results: The results of my research indicate that out of a total of 576 respondents aged 15 to 30 years, up to 78 % of women suffer from painful menstruation, which indicates a high prevalence of this problem in this population. An interesting finding is that of the sample of 162 women taking contraceptives, 73 % still experience pain during menstruation, suggesting that contraception may not be a...
SF6 Alternatives in Power Engineering
Hofrová, Klára ; Pelikán, Luděk (referee) ; Krbal, Michal (advisor)
Sulphur hexafluoride is most widely used gaseous insulating medium. Its excellent electronegative properties make it practically unrivalled in the energy sector. However, due to its strong global warming potential and long lifetime in the atmosphere, it is considered one of the fluorinated greenhouse gases that the European Commission wants to restrict or ban completely. This has created a problem for companies that manufacture equipment with SF6. In this paper, the latest regulations of the European Commission are compiled. It also discusses the technical and environmental requirements that are placed on these gases. Last but not least, the alternatives and their properties are listed, followed by the results from the test cell.
Legal framework for activities of socalled alternative schools in the Czech Republic
Kaczor, Jan ; Staša, Josef (advisor) ; Rajchl, Jiří (referee)
222 Legal Framework for Activities of So-Called Alternative Schools in the Czech Republic Abstract This thesis describes the legal aspects of providing primary and secondary education at so- called alternative schools in the Czech Republic. Firstly, the thesis outlines what an alternative school is and how it can differ from a traditional school. Some examples are given below. Then it explains legal provisions of international human rights law and constitutional law concerning the right to education. A state's obligation to respect parent's philosophical, religious, and other beliefs and rights of individuals and organizations to establish and run private educational institutions lies within the scope of the right to education. The author clarifies why, under these provisions, any quantitative restriction limiting number or capacity of private schools is unacceptable. As a result, some current administrative practices of the Ministry of Education not allowing private schools to be established is labeled as unlawful. Secondly, the author thoroughly describes the general legal framework provided by Education Act nr. 561/2004 Sb., especially its aspects concerning private and alternative schools. This thesis concludes that providing education in schools needs to be seen as an act of the so-called "other"...
Resistance of Trichomonas vaginalis and other anaerobic pathogens to metronidazole
Havelka, Michal ; Tachezy, Jan (advisor) ; Rada, Petr (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to desbribe mechanisms of resistance to metronidazole in three anaerobic eukaryotic pathogens (T. vaginalis, G. intestinalis, E. histolytica). Diseases caused by these pathogens belong to the list of important but currently neglected diseases. Metronidazole acts only on microbes with an anaerobic metabolism. The drug enters the cell by passive diffusion and needs to be activated by reduction of the nitro group. Mechanisms of activation are different for every pathogen. Enzymes bound with energetic metabolism in hydrogenosomes, cytosolic thioredoxin reductase and nitroreductases play a major role in the activation. The drug damages cells in three ways - DNA damage, formation of covalent bonds with proteins, and covalent bonds with thiols. Pathogens have specific mechanisms to defend themselves against the drug. They can either down-regulate enzymes that activate metronidazole, reduce it to non-reactive aminoimidazole or they can increase the intracellular concentration of oxygen which leads to deactivation of the drug by futile cycling. These mechanisms are bound with physiological changes and subsequently with lowered viability of these pathogens. Furazolidone and benzimidazole derivatives are the best candidates to become an alternative to metronidazole for the...

Children's Group as an Alternative Care Service for Preschool Children
OULEHLOVÁ, Lenka
The bachelor thesis focuses on the children's group as an alternative care service for pre-school children, in which two main goals were set. The first aim of the bachelor thesis was to find out what is the care of children in selected children groups in the South Bohemian Region. The second objective was to find out how the parents are satisfied with the service of children's groups and why they choose this alternative. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters, the first dealing with the history of the origin and development of pre-school institutions. The second chapter deals with other child care services from 1 year to 7 years in the Czech Republic. The third chapter explains in detail how the children's group works and what it has to fulfil. In the practical part, a combination of quantitative and qualitative research was used. A semi-structured interview was conducted with the leaders of each children's group. A questionnaire was created for the parents whose children attend these facilities, and it was sent in bulk by the informants. The information obtained was elaborated in the form of mind maps, tables and graphs. The results of this work may be useful for the idea of running children's groups within the South Bohemian Region. They can be used by current or future employees in children's groups, parents using this service, or those who decide to include children in a children's group. Furthermore, students of pedagogical disciplines and also the general public may increase their awareness of this service.
